Fortier Automotive is a family business owned and operated by Mathieu Fortier and Jessica Trudel, partners in life and in business.
Mat is a certified Automotive Service Technician (310S). He has lived in Timmins his entire life and worked on cars with his dad since he was a kid. Mat went to College Boreal for heavy duty equipment before switching to automotive, completing the three year apprenticeship through Northern College and Sault College. Mat worked as an Automotive Service Technician at Martin Automotive for six years before opening Fortier Automotive in 2019.
Jessica Trudel was born (and mostly raised) in Timmins. Jes has worked in various communications and management roles, including Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Northern College. She has a diploma in Business from Northern College and a Bachelor of Arts from Athabasca University. Jes was working as a real estate agent before opening Fortier Automotive with Mat in 2019.
In 2020, with business booming, Fortier Automotive was in need of an extra set of hands. As this is a family business, it just made sense to hire Mat’s brother, Pat. Pat works full-time as an apprentice.
Fortier Automotive was established in 2019, with the support of Futurpreneur Canada.
